Day 6: Revelation: The Victory of the Lamb
In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit.
Amen.
Opening Prayer
Glorious Saint John the Evangelist, the disciple whom Jesus loved and guardian of Our Lady, I come before you in this novena with confidence. You who knew Jesus with a unique intimacy and who brought to the world the deepest revelation of his love, intercede for me before the Lord. May I too discover that I am “the disciple whom Jesus loves.” Amen.
Meditation
According to Christian tradition, John’s Book of Revelation was written during his exile on Patmos, in a time of persecution. It is not a book of terror or catastrophic predictions. It is a book of hope: the revelation that, behind historical events that seem dominated by evil and suffering, there is a Lamb who was slain and who has triumphed, who governs history and who is coming soon. The central message of Revelation is not the Antichrist: it is worship. The Lamb is worthy to receive all glory, honor, and power.
Prayer of the Day
Saint John, seer of Revelation, intercede that I may live in the light of the victory you revealed. When history seems dominated by evil, may I remember: the Lamb has already conquered. May worship be my response to crises, like the twenty-four elders who fell prostrate before the throne. May I live as someone who knows how history ends. Amen.
Our Father × 1
Hail Mary × 1
Glory Be × 1
Closing Prayer
Glorious Saint John the Evangelist, beloved disciple of Jesus and guardian of Our Lady, receive the prayers of this novena. Intercede for me before the Lord and obtain for me the graces I need. May the revelation you proclaimed, “God is love,” become the certainty that sustains my life. May I live as “the disciple whom Jesus loves.” Through Christ our Lord. Amen.
